How I ended up here
My journey in the field of computer science began in 2019, when my wife and I decided to build a desktop computer for our home. This sparked a newfound interest in the world of technology for me, so naturally I decided to delve deeper into the field. After spending countless hours watching YouTube videos, I made the decision to enrol in university as a mature age student and have not looked back since.
The past four years have been an incredible learning experience, and I have enjoyed every semester. I have learned to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions, and I have come to appreciate the importance of security and privacy in the digital world. I am eager to continue to deepen my understanding of the field and to apply my skills to real-world challenges, and I believe that a career in cyber security will provide me with the opportunity to do so.

Short term career goals:
Represent ECU at the 2024 C2C CTF.
Graduate in 2024 with a high distinction overall.
Secure a position working in a dynamic organisation.
Long term career goals:
Have experience across different roles within cyber security.
Become a CISSP.
Give back to the cyber security community.
What I'm doing now
Finishing up my undergraduate cyber security degree.
Actively seeking out certifications to compliment my studies.
Attending Students of Cyber events and industry conferences.
Trying to convince my wife I need a homelab.

FAMILY
Growing up in New Zealand with my brothers, we had a passion for adventure and the great outdoors. We spent our holidays travelling the country, hitting the slopes, and yelling at the TV. After moving to Western Australia, I met my wife and we started our own family. Together we enjoy days at the beach, camping in the southwest, and eating yummy food. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
